After 30 years as a librarian, Helen Grochmal took to writing fiction in her 60s after an unexpected life change. One peculiar day she found herself living alone in a retirement home where she was inspired to set her work. Unfortunately, the spirit that had suddenly moved her to write departed just as suddenly, she can even tell you the exact date and time. But in those few years of blessed creativity, she had two mystery novels and seven short stories published, with a few left over.
